Identity documents

Clear colour scan of the photo page of your current valid passport.

Birth certificate

Your official birth certificate showing your full name, date of birth and parents' names.

Change of name document

Marriage certificate, deed poll or other proof if your name has changed since birth.

Balance of Family test

List of all your children (worldwide)

A comprehensive list of all your children — their names, dates of birth, countries of usual residence and citizenship.

Australian children's citizenship or PR evidence

Copy of each child's Australian citizenship certificate, passport or permanent residency visa confirming they are settled in Australia.

Australian children's birth certificates

Official birth certificates for each child settled in Australia, linking them to you as parent.

Overseas children's evidence Optional

Evidence of the country of usual residence for each child living outside Australia (passports, residence permits, utility bills).

Sponsorship

Form 40SP — Sponsorship for a Parent to Migrate

Completed and signed Form 40SP submitted by your Australian child as your sponsor.

Sponsor proof of identity

Your sponsoring child's current Australian passport or citizenship certificate and driver licence.

Sponsor's citizenship or PR evidence

Evidence that your sponsor is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible NZ citizen settled in Australia.

Sponsor's birth certificate

Your sponsoring child's birth certificate to confirm the parent–child relationship.

Assurance of Support

Confirmation from Services Australia that an Assurance of Support has been accepted, including the bond reference.

AoS holder's financial evidence

Payslips, tax returns or bank statements showing the AoS holder can meet the financial obligations.

Health & character

National police certificates from each country you have lived in for 12 or more months since age 16.
